PATCHES

Point Emblems uses high-quality embroidery threads to create custom patches that look sharp and hold up to real use. We can start from your existing patch or build a brand-new design from scratch, matching your colors, badge shape, and lettering. Pricing is tailored to your budget so you can outfit an entire department, team, or organization without cutting corners on quality.

PRODUCTION PROCESS

All we need to begin is your idea or a patch you’d like us to reproduce. We can work from a rough sketch, notes from a phone call, or artwork you already have. Our artists convert that into a clean digital proof for your approval. Once the design is signed off, it goes into production and you receive finished patches that match the approved artwork.

BORDERS

Heat cut borders are ideal when the design has tight curves, cut-outs, or unusual outlines. Laser cut borders have no sewn/looped border and is best for very intricate shapes. Merrow borders wrap cleanly around the outside edge of a patch, giving it a classic, finished look that works well on most shapes. All styles are stitched to be durable and help your patch keep its shape on uniforms, jackets, hats, and gear.

STITCH PERCENTAGE

Stitch percentage describes how much of the patch surface is covered in thread. Higher percentages allow for more detail and richer color coverage, while lower percentages let background fabric show through and can help manage cost. We can do 100%, 75%, 50% or anything in between, depending on the look and budget that makes the most sense for your project.

BACKING

The most common option is a sturdy PVC backing that keeps the patch stable and easy to sew on. We also offer hook-and-loop (Velcro) and iron-on backings for patches that need to be removable or applied quickly. You can even mix backing types within the same order so different uniforms or garments get the attachment style that fits them best.

SIZES

Patches can be made in a wide range of sizes and shapes. Tell us how big or small you’d like the finished piece to be and where it will be worn, and we’ll recommend dimensions that keep the details readable. Point Emblems can produce patches from around 1 inch up to large back or jacket sizes, giving you plenty of flexibility for different applications.
